40 Years of Misery!
The Life and Times of Stephen Toll Stragnell

I was a famously photogenic child and my parents tried to make money out of my good looks and charming childhood temperament by entering me in a variety of photographic competitions. Although this was not a terribly successful enterprise, I was runner-up in the 1962 regional semi-finals of the Heinz Baked Bean Boy competition.

Unfortunately, it soon became clear to me that my parents were interested in only one thing. My younger sister Sarah was born in 1961 and it was obvious that there was not enough room on the mantlepiece for everyone.

Someone would have to go!
