Eventually, we ended up at some restaurant
in North London which Miles had located on the Internet. I gather the qualities
he was looking for included deafeningly loud music, surly waitresses and
the absence of anything remotely edible on the menu. |

          | By this stage, Miles and Muriel were so jet-lagged
that we had to prod them constantly in order to keep them awake. Still,
they approached the whole affair with a good nature and even smiled benignly
when John stood on the bar to sing Happy Birthday. |

The climax of the evening was waking Miles
long enough for him to blow out his birthday candle. Soon after leaving
the restaurant we were able to persuade them that they had to change trains
            - last we saw of them they were just about to board the overnight sleeper
            to Inverness. |

In fact, we had a marvellous visit and we were only sorry that
their whistle stop tour was a little bit too much whistle and not enough stop.
Next time, plan to come for a proper visit. We can arrange to be away!

Thank goodness that's over. I think the Fabulous
        Photo Archive needs a visit
On second thoughts don't be so stupid. Get me back to Greg's
        Temporary Home Page
