At the same time, Greg decided that early retirement was looking increasingly appealing and so, at the end of July, he waved good-bye to thirty-four years of working for Oxfordshire and, as we speak, is pretending to be an independent educational ICT consultant. Indeed, we are now known as Stragnell ICT Consultancies, a name which, you will no doubt concur, trips agreeably off the tongue.

The summer brought more excitement than we can stand and more enjoyment than we really are entitled to expect. In July we had a wonderful weekend in Caux, in the south of France, for our very dear friend Joe Jefferies’ wedding to Amandine. It was a splendidly wonderful weekend and provided excellent practice for the big event!

In August Nick and Lucy got married on the one nice day we had in the UK this summer. Not only that but the celebrations brought a couple of Greg’s sisters and a brother-in-law, along with Ben and Donna from the States as well as Adam and Sugar from China.  The wedding was fantastic – the weather was great, the venue was outstanding, and having all the boys with their respective (and significantly) better halves on hand was priceless.
People are still talking about the wedding cakes!
